Pros
To be honest with review, I am grateful to get few good peers apart from managers. Without them its very difficult to work for 11 -12 hours a day.
Cons
I have worked in cognizant for nearly 3 years 9 months and was posted in Kolkata .So my entire review is based on Kolkata location below: i)There are lots of politics and backbitting involved in working premises. Some people are really honest in work and while other roam here and there for initial 3-4 hours.Near end of the day work, they will start work and extend the working hours and regarded them as 'good employee' from manager. ii)Salary and perks are not at par. When i joined cts on 2011 as programmer analyst( I am a btech graduate).i received inhand salary around 20000.When I left company on 2015 my inhand salary was 27 approx. Now if I compare with my present bank sector,my inhand salary excluding NPS and pf is 30000(approx) and I have joined bank on 2017. iii)HR policies are not satisfactory.I remember ,I was in one project on2013 -14.I have to go every saturday, sunday, work for 12 hours a day. They didnot provide any compensation at that time.My entire work life balance got impacted. iv) Rating entirely depend on your reporting manager. If they have any personal grudge, they will end up your rating by providing MA. Its not that you have not work hard. Its because you are a victim of office politics. v)There are zero skill development provided to you.I was in testing domain and mainly based on manual testing. There was no facility to upgrade skill. Projects are manual testing and managers are reluctant to give facility to people upgrading skill. Most scary thing is that when you are married and have family ,and your rating got impacted just for personal grudge with manager/internal politics and you dont know how to to feed family.

It definitely has great potential as an organization but to achieve full potential they have to get rid of inactive managers and HR. Most of them practice and believe in comfort zones. Some of them are too tight when it comes to management. Need change!!

Pros
Yes I would want to work at Cognizant but with a more active management. People should be encouraged and allowed to work on new things after he or she has put sufficient time and efort in project without any growth opportunities. I was hardly allowed to pursue skills of my choice which were not completely different from the current skill set. For example if I did reporting for 2 years, I expressed interest in learning ETL which was not allowed even though it was there as part of all the projects.i guess nearly 20 members out of 25 were disgusted with the way the resources were not taken care to enhance their technical skills and were made to work in the same project with the same skill set for 4 years literally without scope to see and learn other projects. They put us in a locked ODC without access to any other projects and skill sets. Some poor managers made the situation even worse with their lack of project awareness and ability to encourage the resources to make it to next level.
Cons
Ineffective managers and inactive HR who do not take prompt action when a resource comes out with some suggestions or aspirations which led to high attrition. Most of my team mates had to leave cognizant because of lack of job rotation and inability of managers to motivate resources in such melancholic work environment which was locked within an ODC with no access to other projects and skill sets. Lot of politics initiated from the managers much so because they don't have much to offer in terms of work. They are poorly aware of technology and not great in terms of people management as well but some how got those positions because they spent 15 years in the same office and same seat. It has nothing to do with their ability or performance or attitude. No team activity initiated by managers or HR. There are some projects which go so hard on employees and I must say it's again because of the poor quality of managers who fail to understand the pulse of a resource and the project in itself.

Work is good,no complain about work and teammates. But lots of mismanagement was there for higher management. From manager and above level. We use to come every alternate sundays of a month, without getting paid a single penny. It might vary project to project

Pros
For a fresher it is a very good company to start with, training is good and freshers can get a good opportunity to gain their knowledge.
Cons
There are so many things i personally dislike about cognizant. 1)RDP or internal exams,if u do not complete them within the given time period, then you have a great possibility to loose your rating.Though it shows it has only 30% weight-age to your YEA,but if u don't complete them, then u can get a very bad rating. 2)They are stopping most of the services in the name of cost cutting, the latest one is shutting down the inter office shuttle service. 3)HR's are there only to confuse you, they will not answer any of your questions. They will answer you in such a way so that you do not ask any question second time to them. 4)Job security is another concern. When they loose some big accounts, for sure some big heads will be asked to leave. though it is not there fault. 5)Compensation for candidates who are not B.tech(BCA or comp science graduate) is very very poor,u can not even imagine how less they are getting paid.Though they are doing the same work as engineering graduates(even more in some cases). 6)Non engineering graduates suffer in cognizant because there promotion criteria is higher compared to engineering graduates. On an average your every promotion will get delayed for 2-3 years compared tothose who have an engineering background. 7)i used to go to office every alternate sundays, without getting a single penny, they do not even provide you lunch. They only reimburse your cab fare, but please be cautious, your cab fare should not cross more than 500,or you might not get the reimbursement. It is not that client is not giving the cost of project for sundays, but higher management is not willing to give u overtime. A free advise to all the graduates except engineering graduates, please do not join cognizant before completing MCA, only after MCA u will get a salary like engineering graduates and your promotions will be in normal way.Anyhow they will crush you with work pressure,so its better to be crushed after getting a normal compensation rather than very low salary.

I have experienced with worst work environment at Cognizant Technology Solutions. There is no work life balance at all.No innovative work is done in this Organization.

Pros
Unfortunately there is nothing which I like about working at Cognizant Technology Solutions
Cons
I experience the following things at Cognizant Technology Solutions 1. No job security : My job is totally insecure in this company as whenever this company encounters ant loss they fire their employees like me who do not have any reference at higher(Manager/Director) level. 2. No more career growth : Since I have joined this company my career has been finished as I get no chance here to improve my skill as well as my career. Moreover this company can fire me anytime whenever they encounter any loss.As a result my career is going to be finished by this company 3. No appraisal : After spending 2.5 months in this company I am getting the same salary with which I have joined this company 4. No travel : Since I have joined this company I did not get any opportunity to travel 5. Too much internal politics : After joining the projects of this company I am getting confused whether I have joined any organization or Politics.Projects are full of internal politics.Existing Project people like to spend their time in discussing about others whom they do not like and specially those who newly joined the project 6. No scope for learning : Since I joined this company I did not get any chance for learning new technologies.Although I have joined this company as developer but most of the testing assignments are given to me.Whenever I asked for project release they(Both manager and HR) play such politics such that I would be forced to submit resignation. 7. Worst work environment : Cognizant Technology Solutions is a level v IT company. Before joining this was my dream company but now after joining and spending 2.5 years now this company has become my nightmare. Here I get servant like treatment in my present project. All the works are assigned to me but did not get any appreciation. Even I am not getting invited at project parties. My leaves are expired till I am not allowed to take leave even in case of emergency like sick and death 8. No more Innovation 9. No work-life balance

Pros
Lots of learning, working on good projects and technologies. This makes cognizant a good choice to start career. Work culture is good. Managers, senior managers, director, AVP all are very helpful, well-mannered with even juniormost employee, within reach at all times and very understanding in nature.
Cons
Compensation is terrible. Growth and promotions are also very bad. Onshore opportunities are pretty limited. Things are so bad that people almost give up on progressing their career within cognizant and end up resigning after waiting for years. Company is negligent towards employees, they never have funds for anything, no incentives or perks, no team outings provided by company or client. All this leads to zero employee satisfaction. All they want is employee should work good, do certifications and what not for the growth of company but company will never do anything for employees.

As I was part of Live Marketplace team, there was constant monitoring of live metrics and always on our toes and investigate issue if any and plug those gaps. It is a Data Analytics profile with several analysis. Analysis on ways to improve ROI.

Pros
Well any company depends on the peers you are working with and the manager you have, I have had an excellent manager who made sure i was rewarded adequately in the best possible way and got the approval of top management. Get to work with a lot of great minds develop good work ethics, the clients are awesome and one of the reasons I was here for so long even though there was no work life balance. Although a lot things did not work out i am more happier than sad.
Cons
1. Opportunities to explore. If you are a billable cash cow in one project which has some degree of attrition rate, changing projects is very difficult. Having conversation with upper management is usually hopeless, they promise a lot but very little on delivery. 2. Top management are not hands on and use a lot of jargon's which is so inappropriate in context of the conversation. 3. You have to be very visible to the top management by interacting, gossiping with higher ups to get favorable opportunities even though one has put heart soul and won a lot of accolades, does not help one bit. 4. The work life balance is really bad. 5. Office toiletries is terrible.

They have no clue how to match skill sets with the requirements. And they hire like people are herds of cattle and they do not have the management skills to manage their resources. Just a clueless company needing more client projects but can't keep up.

Pros
Absolutely nothing good about it except a very few managers who make sense as leaders there. This company doesn't treat it's employees as human beings who deserve basic respect. Absolutely no safety in the premises and the so called HR Dept only tries covering up the blunders they are responsible for. Nobody works there in peace and the management is pathetic and have no skills in handling people (except for a very few sensible people) . So basically it's just a set of buildings with a lot of people working there and nothing really progresses but the company somehow makes money using it's employees.
Cons
Pretty much everything! The HR dept isn't there for the employees. They are so incapable and only make things worse when things are taken to their notice for a resolution. Cognizant does Not care for it's employees and does not compensate for any damages the company causes. It is only the brand that has it's reputation but that is slowly dying now anyway, following the news these days. Work there at your own risk and don't expect anything progressive!

Pros
The company is open to innovation and readily adopts latest technology. I love the fact that I am a part of a team that markets reliable, high-quality products and has a global client base. As a result, I get to travel abroad, especially to the US and Canada. But on-site travel is completely dependent on your project and client’s location. Mine is a US based client and they have some offices in Toronto, hence I got a B1 visa quickly. Another plus point is that my colleagues come from various cultural backgrounds, and we work happily in collaboration. I also like the employee re-hire policy here.
Cons
Compensation is decent, but growth is slow. The work pressure is very high. Sometimes, I have to work 14-18 hours straight in a day as I have to attend client calls in the evening and sometimes late into the night. Managers do not value an individuals’ unique strengths, which is why I have to take back my suggestions most of the times. I do receive appreciation emails from my client, but they mostly go unnoticed during my mid-year appraisals. Also, there is no on-job training for freshers, hence senior folks like me have to guide them step-by-step, which is a pain sometimes.

My overall experience was in Manual Product Testing in banking and financial services domain. My technology demands for domain knowledge more than technical skills. I was part of Test design, Test execution, Defect Life Cycle etc.

Pros
I had very nice experience working in this organisation. I got a chance to work in good projects and good team mates. The management was very good and understanding. The work life balance was great. I got an opportunity to work at client location which helped to grow in both persona and professional ways. Was very happy and content with the company but due to some personal reasons, i had to take a break. I would like to rejoin the organisation in future if i decide to work in IT again.
Cons
There was some phase in one of the projects where work pressure was tremendous and we had to work for more than 12 hours which was obviously impacted the personal life.

I am a RPA developer. I have worked for three projects among which two ( travelers, cargill) in automation anywhere and one( metlife) in blueprism. I have improved my communication skill and also my listening skill. All projects helped me learn team effort

Pros
Competitive platform for professional and personal development in terms of skills
Cons
Compensation is decent but growth is slow. The work pressure is high. Sometimes I have to work for 14- 18 hours straight in a day as I have to attend client calls in the evening and sometimes late in to night. Also it would be helpful if there is onjob training ( we have options to personally learn and develop our skills via various courses provided) . On job training will reduce the time required for the freshers to adapt the new environment
