Position Summary:
In accordance with company policies, performs all functions of personnel management to deliver Fort Dearborns World Class Service model. This requires obtaining and utilizing an in depth knowledge of our customers and products that we produce for them by demonstrating analytical thinking, comprehending the use of Fort Dearborns business systems and exceptional communication skills. Directs and manages department to ensure that proper procedures are executed to endorse compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manages Department and exhibits the ability to share authority, empower their teams to make decisions, and trust their team members to resolve and deliver solutions.
Manages, oversees and trains associates on all departmental procedures, quality procedures and all related work instructions, safety, performance reviews, personnel issues, training, and company policies.
Exhibits leadership by being able to influence, negotiate and persuade co-workers, subordinates and business partners.
Develop on-going relationships with the customer to make label ordering a seamless operation, coordinates new business opportunities and inter-plant transfers.
Ensures customer adherence to established pricing, terms and conditions
Drives department process improvements and ensures department performance metrics are achieved by driving themselves to continue to grow and pushing others around them to get better.
Assist with sales presentations, customer visits and press approvals. (Occasionally travels as necessary).
Trains, coaches and mentors people. Ensures subordinates support related initiatives for their employees in accordance with company personnel management policies.
Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications - Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Below are the minimum requirements of the education, experience, knowledge, and skills required to competently perform this position. A four year college degree; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations, methods and practices.
This position requires high level computer skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; prior customer service management experience and technical printing knowledge helpful.
Ability to travel within North America
This position requires the incumbent to drive a motor vehicle, use color vision, hearing, sitting for prolonged periods, speaking and articulating, on a constant basis, stand walk use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
This position requires the incumbent to stoop, kneel or crouch or and lift/ and or move up to 10 lbs. on an infrequent basis
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
The noise level in the work environment is minimal
