Brief Description


As a Site Operative, are responsible for loading and unloading goods from rail wagons using a Komatsu PC360 (which has a clamshell fitted) and delivering recycled products to road vehicles using a Caterpillar 972 Wheeled Loading Shovel. As part of our operations we also operate a CAT 730 dump truck and manitou telehandler.

You will operate weighbridge’s and produce tickets for customers on a daily basis while also ensuring that the daily stock reports are filled out to consistently provide good database management.

Do you have:

  • Experience on a tracked 360 excavator over 10 tonnes?

  • Experience on a loading shovel, telehandler?

  • Having experience on the above machines is crucial within this role, alongside excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with you team.


About the role (External)


Key Accountabilities:
  • Carry out work safely in line with the safe systems of work procedures, method statements or other instructions. Report any Close Calls as identified.
  • Undertake work and associated duties for which you are trained and competent, advising the Site Manager should you feel more training is required.
  • Undertake work activities as directed, in an efficient and safe manner and in accordance with all relevant standards.
  • Check that vehicles, plant, tools, equipment and materials under your control are fit for use and are used/stored and disposed of correctly, reporting any issues to the Site Manager.
  • Contribute to your own development.
  • Enforce company policies and procedures.
  • Represent the team at all appropriate business meetings, workshops and briefings as required.

  • Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Hold and retain competencies relevant to this post required by the business including training as required.
  • Able and willing to drive vehicles as required (Vehicles/Machines detailed above)

Network Rail adheres to a structured pay framework, any salary offered will be within the following pay: £29,487
